Methagu is a Tamil language political thriller written and directed by Kittu. The film has been produced by the Tamil Eelam Screen with the support of world Tamils. The music for the film is composed by Praveen. Initially, the film was expected to release on November 26, 2020. But due to the Corona epidemic and some issues it was postponed and it was said that it would be released in 2021. It was then released on the BS VALUE site on June 25, 2021. The film is based on the real events in Tamil Eelam and how the betrayals of Tamil Nadu there saw the repression and why LTTE leader Prabhakaran started fighting there for freedom. The film tells the early life story of LTTE leader Ven. Velupillai Prabhakaran. The film revolves around his biography and the story of the film. The film concludes with the political situation in Sri Lanka, the atrocities of Sinhala-Buddhist chauvinism, and the assassination of leader மேதகு வேலுப்பிள்ளை பிரபாகரன் and his comrades in the name of the Tamil New Tigers, the traitor mayor Thuraiyappa, who was complicit in the killing of nine Tamils in a Sinhala attack on the World Tamil Research Conference in Jaffna. The film shows the struggles, life stories and events of Eelam Tamil life

Mr. Ninga is one of the most influential fighters in the history of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). Way. Prabhakaran has produced a Tamil film titled ‘Medaku’ based on his early history. The film was made through a fundraiser by world Tamils.

The director captures very realistically and elegantly how the rights of Tamils in Sri Lanka have been taken away and injustice done to them, and how an ordinary young man who has been angry since he was a child can end up armed for the liberation of his race.

The film is scripted and directed by T. Kittu. Also, cinematographer Riyaz, composer Praveen Kumar, art director Mujibur Raguman, cinematographer Ilangovan and screenwriter Vinayagam have co-edited the film.

The film was co-produced by Tanjay Kumar and Sumesh overseeing the production management. Ezwar Patsa and Satish are co-founders in the production management.

The film is set to release on June 25. Actor Sathyaraj, actor Rajesh, director Ponvannan, director Cheran, director Aamir, director Mari Selvaraj, director Gautham, and director Naveen shared the release announcement of the film on their social media sites.

தமிழீழ விடுதலை போராட்ட வரலாற்றில் என்றும் நீங்கா இடம் பெற்ற போராளியும், தமிழீழ விடுதலை புலிகள் அமைப்பை தோற்றுவித்த தலைவருமான திரு. வே. பிரபாகரன் அவர்களின் ஆரம்ப கால வரலாற்றை மையமாக வைத்து “மேதகு” என்ற தமிழ் திரைப்படத்தை, தமிழீழ திரைக்களம் நிறுவனம் தயாரித்துள்ளது. இந்த திரைப்படம் உலக தமிழர்கள் நன்கொடை திரட்டல் வாயிலாக உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
